Masterclass Overview
Procurement is one of the most demanding and high-risk areas of running an interior design studio, yet it is often managed without clear structure. Designers juggle suppliers, shifting lead times, complex specifications and client communication under constant time pressure. Without defined systems, this leads to errors, cash flow exposure and reduced margins.
This masterclass addresses the core procurement challenges designers face, from reactive workflows and delivery issues to the financial risk of managing client funds. We examine where processes commonly break down and how this affects profitability.
Focused on practical implementation, the session provides structured methods to improve supplier coordination, protect cash flow, manage timelines and set clearer client expectations. By the end, you will have a practical framework to streamline procurement and support stronger project delivery.
What You Will Learn
This masterclass focuses on practical outcomes. By the end of the session, you will be able to introduce stronger systems, make better procurement decisions and protect your studio’s profitability
- Identify inefficiencies in your current procurement approach and implement a clear, structured process to reduce confusion and reactive decision-making.
- Establish a procurement model that protects margins through considered mark up, cash flow management and financial tracking.
- Evaluate procurement software options and select a system aligned with your studio’s workflow and growth plans.
- Organise supplier information, lead times and pricing to improve coordination and minimise delays.
- Integrate procurement into your contracts, timelines and client communication to better manage expectations and delivery.
Who Should Attend
This masterclass is for interior designers who manage procurement in house, or plan to, and want a more structured and financially controlled approach. It’s suited to those who feel overwhelmed by supplier coordination, lead times and logistics, and are tired of constantly resolving issues as they arise.
It is also for studios seeking stronger control over margins, timelines and financial risk, particularly as they grow and recognise that informal systems no longer support sustainable delivery.
Ultimately, it is for designers who want procurement to strengthen project execution and team efficiency rather than disrupt it.

Elizabeth Kelly
Elizabeth is the founder of The Procurement Studio. After many years working in the luxury property sector across both design and build, she developed a deep understanding of the operational pressures interior design studios face, particularly around FF&E procurement, project coordination, and financial management. She saw how easily creativity can be overshadowed by complex logistics, supplier challenges, and margin risk, and recognised the need for dedicated procurement expertise within the industry.
In 2024, she founded The Procurement Studio to meet that demand. Her work focuses on helping both emerging and established design practices introduce stronger systems, clearer processes, and greater commercial confidence. She collaborates closely with each studio, acting as an extension of their team to refine operations, protect profitability, and support sustainable growth.
Elizabeth is passionate about bringing structure to the behind the scenes of design, so studios can deliver exceptional projects with clarity, control, and confidence.
